Daytona Beach, FL – Due to Hurricane Irma, the original dedication date was canceled and is now rescheduled. The second stage of the reimagining capital campaign for the Halifax Humane Society is now scheduled to be dedicated on October 11, 2017, at 10:00 am. The Lee C. & Patricia Culler Boarding, Grooming and Travel Center follows the opening of the Community Dog Park that opened in 2016.
“The Boarding, Grooming and Travel Center completion marks a pivotal step towards helping fulfill our reimagined future and the impact it will have on the community. The center will be a unique addition to our campus, as this is the first boarding and grooming travel center in the nation for a non-profit animal shelter. One that will provide our community with an affordable resource while helping sustain revenue for the facility for years to come’, said Miguel Abi-Hassan, CEO.
The Boarding, Grooming, and Travel Center is conveniently located at the I-95 and LPGA Blvd. exit just 0.3 miles to the entrance. The center includes restrooms for people, vending machines, information to aid travelers in finding pet-friendly hotels, restaurants, parks, etc. For the animals, the center offers boarding and grooming services as well as access to the fenced-in community dog park with small and large dog sections. The boarding center will be open 7-days a week from 7:30 am to 6:00. Boarding will be available for a daily rate. Boarded dogs play in a secured grass area daily. Owners are encouraged to bring food for their pets. Boarding is available for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, critters (rabbits, Guinea pigs) etc. The grooming portion of the center will be open 3-days a week and grooming is by appointment only. A full-line of grooming services are offered including puppy cuts, flea baths, basic grooming cuts, deluxe cuts, bathing, nail clipping and more. The Boarding, Grooming and Travel Center was made possible in part by the naming donor Lee C. & Patricia Culler. Mrs. Culler said, “I am pleased to be able to fund the grooming and boarding facility. My late husband Lee Cunningham Culler, always instilled in my daughter and myself that it is important to give back to the community that has always been good to us.
