Free Scam Workshop For Seniors At Ormond Beach City Hall

Ormond Beach, FL- The City of Ormond Beach, in partnership with the Florida Department of Financial Services, will be offering an Operation S.A.F.E. (Stop Adult Financial Exploitation) Be Scam Smart workshop on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the City Commission Chambers at City Hall located at 22 South Beach Street.

Operation S.A.F.E. is part of Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater’s On Guard for Seniors initiative.  Workshops are free and open to seniors, their family members and caregivers and will teach how to avoid being a victim of financial fraud and scams.  The workshop will provide information on:

  • Spotting fraudulent behavior
  • Common scams targeting seniors
  • Fighting identity theft
