Orange City, FL– On May 31 at 5 pm., the community is invited to a grand opening celebration for Florida Hospital Fish Memorial’s newly completed center for Wellness and Rehab Care.

During the grand opening celebration, guests will have the opportunity to take tours of the new location, as well as enjoy entertainment and refreshments.

Officially open for patients on May 10, Florida Hospital Fish Memorial’s Wellness and Rehab Care is located inside the Volusia Medical Center at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial, 1053 Medical Center Drive, Suite 151, Orange City.

This nearly 7,700-square-foot facility provides rehabilitation services for patients diagnosed with heart or lung diseases, as well as patients needing physical, occupational, or speech therapy.

With this new consolidated location, Florida Hospital Fish Memorial can care for more patients and offer additional rehabilitation services that are not readily available at many freestanding outpatient therapy facilities. The new space features a full kitchen and bathroom, which helps patients relearn and practice activities of daily living and self-care activities with a therapist. In addition, the hospital’s community garden is located adjacent to the Volusia Medical Center and will give occupational therapy patients the opportunity to practice fine motor skills related to gardening.

“We have been planning this for quite some time and are so excited to finally be able to share this with the community,” said Danielle Johnson, Florida Hospital Fish Memorial chief operating officer. “The new Wellness and Rehab Care area is so much larger than our old Wellness and Rehab departments. By consolidating these two departments into one large, colorful, comprehensive space, we’ll be able to care for more patients each day, in a more comfortable and spacious environment, and offer new and exciting therapies that we weren’t able to before.”
