Fair Scheduled In Daytona Beach To Support Families

Daytona Beach, FL – Volusia County Schools next regional FACT (Families and Community Together) Fair will be held Thursday, November 16, from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. in the gymnasium at Campbell Middle School, 625 South Keech Street. The fair is designed to support the needs of Title I families and encourage parents to become more involved in their child’s education.

Title I schools in the northeast area are Champion Elementary, Chiles Academy, Holly Hill School, Longstreet Elementary, Mainland High, Ormond Beach Elementary, Ortona Elementary, Osceola Elementary, Palm Terrace Elementary, Port Orange Elementary, Richard Milburn Academy, Riverview Learning Center, South Daytona Elementary, Sugar Mill Elementary, Turie T. Small Elementary, Westside Elementary, and Volusia Online. While the fairs are designed with Title I schools in mind, families from all schools are welcome to attend.

Volusia County Schools and community organizations are working together to provide parents with information about free resources available to families, including support for health concerns, affordable housing, public safety, voluntary pre-kindergarten and secondary education opportunities.

Free books and food will be available. Information about elementary reading, writing, science, technolog, and math will be provided. Parents may also learn about tutoring services, Title I programs, Exceptional Student Education services, mentoring opportunities, graduation requirements and technology in the schools.  Entertainment will be provided in the auditorium by talented students.

Numerous family activities will be available in the gymnasium. The F.A.C.T. Fairs are sponsored by the Title I Parent & Family Engagement office for Volusia County Schools.
