Explore NASA's Future At Ormond Beach Library

Ormond Beach, FL-Russell Romanella, former director of safety and mission assurance at the Kennedy Space Center will present “NASA – Exploration for Our Future” at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at the Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 N. Beach St.

He will explore NASA’s current human and robotic exploration missions and explain where the agency is headed now that the space shuttle is retired. He will discuss the space station program, exploration of the solar system and beyond, and NASA’s plans to return to the Moon and visit Mars.

Before his retirement in 2014, Romanella worked for NASA for 30 years, holding numerous leadership positions with the space shuttle program, the International Space Station, and NASA’s exploration program.  He

received numerous achievement and performance awards for his leadership in preparing space station elements for launch from the Kennedy Space Center.
