Embry-Riddle Commencement Ceremony Scheduled For May

Daytona Beach, FL-Over 1,200 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University students will receive degrees at spring commencement ceremonies held for the Daytona Beach and Worldwide campuses, beginning May 5.

WORLDWIDE CAMPUS COMMENCEMENT IN DAYTONA BEACH MAY 5

Embry-Riddle’s Worldwide Campus Spring 2018 commencement ceremony for 452 students will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at the I.C.I. Center on Embry-Riddle’s Daytona Beach Campus, 600 S. Clyde Morris Blvd.

The Worldwide Campus commencement keynote speaker is Embry-Riddle alumnus Tom Conard, Senior Director of Global Sales & Marketing (GSM) and T-X Capture Team Leader for Strike, Surveillance, and Mobility (SSM), a division within Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS).

DAYTONA BEACH CAMPUS COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY MAY 7

An estimated 770 students will receive degrees, representing the Colleges of Arts & Sciences, Aviation, Business, and Engineering includes about 100 master’s students and three Ph.D., graduates.  The doctoral graduates represent the fields of Aviation, Engineering Physics, and Human Factors.

The total class number of spring graduates includes students receiving more than one degree; previous graduates who were unable to participate in another ceremony and summer prospective graduates who received permission to participate.

The Spring 2018 graduating class also includes 67 students receiving military commissions: 27 from Air Force ROTC, 23 from Army ROTC and 17 from Navy/Marine Corps ROTC.

The May 7 Daytona Beach Campus commencement ceremony features guest speaker and longtime Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Board of Trustee Joseph “Joe” Martin. Martin is the retired co-chairman and vice chairman of the Board of Directors of Fairchild Semiconductor Corp., where he also served as executive vice president and chief financial officer.

  • Army ROTC Commissioning Ceremony, Friday, May 4, 10 a.m. – Henderson Welcome Center
  • Master's Hooding Ceremony, Sunday, May 6, 10 a.m. – ICI Center
  • Air Force Commissioning Ceremony, Sunday, May 6, 1 p.m. – ICI Center
  • Navy ROTC Commissioning Ceremony, Monday, May 7, 3 p.m. – Henderson Welcome Center
