ECHO Committee Plans To Review Grant Applications For Volusia County

Volusia County, FL-The Volusia County Environmental, Cultural, Historical and Outdoor Recreation (ECHO) Advisory Committee will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the Lifeguard Headquarters and Administration Center, 515 S. Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach.

The ECHO committee will conduct the meeting as the Grant Review Panel to rank the 2017/2018 ECHO applications and recommend the awards to the Volusia County Council for final approval.

The following applications, which requested $2,336,130.50 in ECHO grant funds, will be reviewed:

City of DeBary: Gateway Park, $140,750

City of DeLand: Sperling Sports Complex: $400,000

City of Deltona: The Center at Deltona, $202,400

City of Deltona: Thornby H.E.R.E, $166,283

City of New Smyrna Beach: Alonzo "Babe" James Splash Park,$215,000

City of Orange City: Colin's Dream Project, $100,000

City of Ormond Beach: Sports Complex Field Lighting: $400,000

Town of Ponce Inlet: Pollard Park, $394,047.50

YMCA - DeLand: DeLand Playground, $77,750

YMCA - Ormond Beach: Ormond Beach Playground and Splash Park, $237,900

Eligible applicants are 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations, municipalities of Volusia County, and departments of Volusia County Government.
