Daytona Beach, FL – Daytona State College’s Homecoming 2016, Nov. 2-5, features special events for families, runners and ‘gamers’ alike.

The college’s inaugural 5K Walk/Runat 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, welcomes everyone to come out and kick off the weekend with an active venture around the Daytona Beach Campus. Participants receive a race t-shirt and finishing medal, while supplies last. Pre-registration is easy online; it’s $30 per person ($35 day of race), free for children age 10 and under. Proceeds go to student scholarships. Registration begins at 7:15 a.m.

Also on Saturday, Nov. 5, Daytona State’s Tabletop Gaming Club, Alumni Association and local gaming store Geek Nation host a charity “Magic the Homecoming” (card game) tournament, noon to 5 p.m., in the Lenholt building on the Daytona Beach Campus. The event includes demonstrations of how to play the game from 10 a.m. to noon, with the tournament starting at noon.
