New Smyrna Beach, FL-Watch “Key Largo” and other favorite classics during the “Cool
Off with a Classic Movie” series at the New Smyrna Beach Regional
Library, 1001 S. Dixie Freeway, in August.
The free movies will be shown at 1 p.m. Wednesdays in the library
auditorium.
· “Rebecca”: Aug. 2. A young woman marries a wealthy widower
and moves into his estate, where she is disturbed by the spectral
influence of his late wife, Rebecca. Laurence Olivier and Joan Fontaine

· “Key Largo”: Aug. 9. A returning World War II veteran has
lost the will to fight ... until he arrives at a rundown hotel in Key
Largo. There a mobster holes up against a raging storm, holding the
veteran, the hotel owner and the owner's widowed daughter-in-law at
gunpoint. Humphrey Bogart, Edward G. Robinson, Lauren Bacall and Lionel
Barrymore star. 101 minutes.
· “Shop Around the Corner”: Aug. 16. Bickering coworkers in a
Budapest gift shop doesn't realize they’re lonely-heart pen pals.
Margaret Sullivan and James Stewart star. 99 minutes.
· “His Girl Friday”: Aug. 23. An unscrupulous newspaper editor
uses every dirty trick in the book to keep his ace reporter/ex-wife from
retiring and remarrying. Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell star. 92
minutes.
· “Palm Beach Story”: Aug. 30. Meet Tom and Gerry, a married
New York couple who are on the skids, both financially and romantically.
With Tom hot on her trail, Gerry leaves for Florida to solve their money
troubles, which she accomplishes in a highly unorthodox
manner. Claudette Colbert and Joel McCrea star. 88 minutes.
