City Of Palm Coast Offers Summer Camps

Palm Coast, FL – Palm Coast Parks & Recreation is planning a summer of fun and recreation for children through its Fun in the Sun Summer Camp and specialty camps in Firefighter Kids, Junior Lifeguard, golf and tennis.

Families may register for any of the camps now. Registration can be done online at www.palmcoastgov.com/camps or at Frieda Zamba Swimming Pool, 339 Parkview Drive, Palm Coast.

Pre-registration is required for all camps. Registration will remain opened until all camp spaces are filled. Fees are charged by week and cannot be pro-rated for part-time participation.

Here are details for the camps being offered this summer:

Fun in the Sun Summer Camp – Fun-filled, themed activities such as arts and crafts, stories, recreational games, nature hikes, swimming and special guest presentations are planned for this camp for students in grades K-6 (grade just completed). Camp runs Monday through Friday from June 5 to Aug. 4, from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (late pick-up available, for an additional fee) at Frieda Zamba Pool classroom, 339 Parkview Drive, Palm Coast. Campers are eligible for the free lunch program provided by the Flagler County School District. Optional field trips are scheduled weekly for an additional fee. Youth Golf Summer Camp – Learn the game of golf during these week-long, fun-filled days of short game, full swing, putting, golf etiquette, sportsmanship, and friendly competition at the Palm Harbor Golf Club, 100 Cooper Lane, Palm Coast. Open to all skill levels, ages 5-18. Camp dates are Monday through Friday, June 12-16; June 19-23; and July 31-Aug. 4; 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch, snacks and drinks included. Youth Tennis Summer Camp – Learn the game of tennis at these week-long camps at the Palm Coast Tennis Center, 1290 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast. Camp dates are Monday through Friday, June 12-16; July 17-21; and July 31-Aug.4; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Campers will focus on stroke fundamentals, hand-eye coordination, balance, footwork and match play. Open to all levels, ages 6 to 13. Campers will need to provide the following: water bottle, towel, hat, lunch, snacks, and drinks. Family discount is available. $149/week or $35/day, with an option for a half-day camp from 9-11:30 a.m. for ages 6-8 for $89/week. Pre-registration required. More info 386-986-2550.

Junior Lifeguard Camp – The Junior Lifeguard Camp offers step-by-step lifeguarding skill development. Swimmers ages 11-15 will learn water safety, lifeguard rescues, and first aid and CPR/AED in this two-day weekend camp Saturday and Sunday, June 17 and 18, 8 a.m.-noon at Frieda Zamba Swimming Pool, 339 Parkview Drive, Palm Coast. Class attendees will receive a CPR mask, Red Cross whistle, and T-shirt. $60. Pre-registration required. More info: 386-986-2323.

Firefighter Kids Camp – Campers will meet at a fire station and learn about firefighting techniques, the concept of CPR and first aid, home and fire safety and how to properly use a fire extinguisher during this week-long camp Monday through Friday, June 19-23, 8:30-11:30 a.m. at Palm Coast Fire Station 25, 1250 Belle Terre Pkwy., Palm Coast. Camp is open to students in grades 3-5 (grade just completed). $60. Pre-registration required. More info: 386-986-2323.
