City Of Palm Coast Offers New Toddler Programs For The Fall

Palm Coast, FL – Toddlers and preschoolers will have the chance to make new friends and learn while having fun at a variety of Palm Coast Parks & Recreation fall programs – some old favorites and some new offerings.

The fall season runs from September through December, and it’s time to sign up now! The registration website iswww.palmcoastgov.com/register.

Space is limited, so be sure to sign up early. The deadline for registration is 48 hours before the start of the program, while space is available. For planning purposes, please register even if the program is free of charge.

Here’s an overview of our programs for the little residents:

Playground Pals – Parents can join their children (ages 2-5) monthly to explore Palm Coast playgrounds for play time, arts, crafts and games. Meet new friends and try different playgrounds. This program is free of charge and will be held 10-11 a.m. Wednesdays:

  • Sept. 13 – Waterfront Park
  • Oct. 18 – Seminole Woods Neighborhood Park
  • Nov. 15 – Holland Park

Munchkin’ Creations – Children with their parents will learn to make their own snack while also creating a unique piece of art at this twice-monthly program. Each week will feature different art techniques such as painting, stamping, gluing, cutting and assembling. Children will also make their own snack to enjoy while practicing stirring, measuring and spreading.

Munchkin’ Creations will be held on Tuesdays from 10-11 a.m. at Frieda Zamba Pool classroom 339 Parkview Drive, Palm Coast. Dates are: Sept. 12 and 26; Oct. 10 and 24; Nov. 14 and 28; and Dec. 12. The fee is $8.

Musical Munchkins – This child-with-parent class for preschoolers 2-5 is an introduction to music, rhythm and movement that will give your child the chance to try various instruments. Watch your child shake, rattle and jingle as they express themselves through music. Each class will have a different theme. The class is taught by Jennifer Baker, occupational therapist and owner of Kascel Therapy LLC.

Musical Munchkins will be held on Thursday mornings 10-11 a.m. from Sept. 7 through Oct. 5 at Frieda Zamba Pool classroom. The program is free of charge.

Teddy Bear Picnic – This fall there are two schedule options – Saturdays or Mondays – for the popular Teddy Bear Picnic! Children ages 2-5 (with their parents) will bring their favorite teddy bear for story time, game playing or craft and a snack.

This is a free program that will be held 10-10:30 a.m. at different parks in Palm Coast. The schedule is:

  • Saturday, Sept. 16 – Holland Park
  • Monday, Oct. 2 – Linear Park
  • Monday, Nov. 6 – Linear Park
  • Saturday, Nov. 18 – Seminole Woods Neighborhood Park
  • Monday, Dec. 4 – Linear Park

Creepy Crawlies Series – For our adventurous little ones, kids 2-5, with their parents, can learn all about their favorite spiders, centipedes, worms, earwigs and other crawlies. Creepy Crawlies will be held on Wednesday evenings at Linear Park, 31 Greenway Court (off Colbert Lane between the two directions of Palm Coast Parkway), Palm Coast.

The class schedule is 5:30-6:30 p.m. Sept. 6 and 20; Oct. 4 and 18; and Nov. 1, 15 and 29. This program is free of charge.

Nature Nut Series – Parents can join their preschoolers (ages 2-5) twice a month for this fun way to learn about animals and the environment. There will be story time, crafts and a fun activity about animals.

Nature Nuts will be 9-10 a.m. Mondays, Sept. 25; Oct. 9 and 23; and Nov. 6 and 20, at Linear Park. The cost is $8 per child.

Little Kicker Soccer – Parks and Rec will offer two sessions of Little Kicker Soccer this fall: Saturdays, Sept. 16 through Oct. 14 from 10:15-11 a.m.; and Thursdays, Sept. 28 through Oct. 26 from 5:15-6 p.m. Both sessions will meet at Holland Park.

This 5-week child-with-parent program teaches toddlers 3-5 the basic motor skills necessary to play organized sports such as soccer. The program is designed for parents to assist the child during the lessons. The cost is $35 per session.

Munchkin’ Sports – Our other sports program for children ages 3-5 is Munchkin’ Sports. Little ones will learn the basic motor skills necessary to play organized sports such as soccer, baseball, golf, football and tennis.

The five-week program will meet 5:15-6 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 27 through Oct. 25. It is set up for parents to assist during lessons. The fee is $35 per session.

Preschool Swim Lessons at Frieda Zamba Pool – Parks & Recreation will offer swim lessons for preschoolers ages 4-5 from Mondays through Thursdays, Sept. 18-28. Three levels will be offered, with all classes in the afternoon at Frieda Zamba Pool, 339 Parkview Drive, Palm Coast.
